Our licensed behavioral counselor will help to control (and dissolve) your fear of flying. This is supported by honest discussion throughout the course of the clinic. When you complete the course, you'll be on your way to greater relaxation and enjoyment of flying.



nullTom Watling - MSW, ACSW

Tom Watling is a social worker who has been working with the Seattle "Fear of Flying Clinic" since its inception. Tom received his B.A. and Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Washington. He is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Tom’s work the last thirty-nine years has been in three areas:

1. The first being the State of Washington, where he worked as a social worker on multi-disciplinary teams evaluating and treating individuals in state programs.

2. The second was as Director of Municipal Court Probation Services for the City of Seattle.

3. The third and present area has been in Private Practice where he practices Cognitive Therapy with individuals, couples and families. The word cognitive simply means thought or perception. Cognitive Therapy is based on the idea that your thoughts and attitudes, and not external events, create your moods.

Tom believes the factors that cause most of our problem emotions are within our control. Independent Clinical Social Worker license number SW40000228 from the Washington State Department of Health.
